Thirsty Bstrd

Thirsty Bstrd is a French visual artist from Paris working with spray paint, stencils, stickers and video. His best-known body of work is the When Banksy Meets Star Wars series: screen prints that apply the stencil visual language of iconic street art to characters from the Star Wars universe — Han Solo holding a banana instead of a blaster, Princess Leia with a bazooka, a Stormtrooper caught pissing against a wall, Chewbacca at a fast food counter, an Ewok in the Laugh Now pose. The collision generates new readings of both worlds simultaneously: the subversive spirit of street art and the mythological weight of Star Wars meet in images that are immediately recognisable and entirely his own. All prints are hand-printed in Paris, signed and numbered by the artist.
