Yacunã Tuxá

Yacunã Tuxá is an indigenous activist and visual artist of the Tuxá ethnicity, in Rodelas, Bahia. Her works are influenced by the spirituality, wisdom and memory of the elders of her people. Yacunã works in defense of the LGBTQIA+ indigenous community.  Her art provides a new perspective on contemporary indigenous populations who move between villages and large cities, building new strategies of resistance. She is a graduate of Linguistics from the Federal University of Bahia.
