Rugman (Anthony McEwan) is a Glasgow-born artist and designer based in East London, working from a studio in Hackney Wick. Influenced by graffiti art and Pop Art, his practice spans limited edition screen prints, original paintings, t-shirts and skateboards — driven by a belief that art should be accessible to everyone. Over 15 years working as a graphic artist in the fashion industry (clients including Donna Karan, Calvin Klein and Vans) gave his practice a sharp commercial sensibility that sits alongside the Pop iconography of cultural figures including royalty, Bowie, Monroe and Che Guevara. He has had solo shows at the Saatchi Gallery and Jealous Gallery in London and exhibited internationally in Barcelona, New York, California, Dublin and Stockholm, with editions co-published with the Saatchi Gallery. His work has been collected by Tom Hardy, Travis Barker of Blink 182, Howlett of The Prodigy, Plan B (Ben Drew), Joey Bada$$ and Tim Minchin.
