Susie Wright is an illustrator and printmaker from Edinburgh. Susie’s work explores the landscape, architecture, wildlife and flora that she finds in her surroundings. Susie studied illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and Central Saint Martins, graduating in MA Communication Design in 2006. Susie has spent the last year exploring and drawing Australia and Japan.
Many of Susie’s illustrations take weeks to draw by hand and her printing process is very methodical. Each separate layer or colour is hand drawn and adapted as the print progresses.
She was shortlisted for the AOI Illustration Awards in 2013 and 2014. Her prints are stocked at the National Galleries of Scotland. Alongside her prints and illustration work, Susie designs her clothing range Oddities, which showcases her distinctive style. She is committed to carefully sourcing sustainable, eco-friendly materials and works across screen printing, lino cutting, wood engraving and ceramics.
