‘Wild animals and birds are the inspiration for many of my oil paintings, and play a powerful role in my imagination. I grew up in the Wyle Valley in Wiltshire, surrounded by wildlife, which seemed to possess a fascinating but also sinister beauty. I have tried to capture that edgy, dark energy in my work using oil paint, which is the perfect, versatile medium for these atmospheric snap shots’.
