The man from the night before, caught in that morning-after quality of being somewhere that isn't home — beside a plant that belongs to a house that isn't his, slightly outside the frame of domestic familiarity. Gavin Dobson describes this as a loose naive painting with a playful quality to it, and the title has the warmth and humour that his best figurative work carries: specific enough to imply a whole story, open enough for the viewer to bring their own version.
Shown in Print Club London's Originals exhibition. Oil on board, natural wood frame, signed. £450.
