Oil painting on board which was previously used as a colour palette, creating an expressive playful background for this charismatic big cat. An examination of unplanned colours and shapes to tell a narrative. Part of the series 'Palettes'. A collection of artworks created by using these canvas boards as palettes to pre-mix colours for larger pieces. What was left were beautiful expressive and abstract marks on boards - shapes which were unconsciously created. Gavin worked into these further to create these final tactile pieces.
