‘Shapes of Nature: Inspired by Matisse’ — A New Series of Original Studies by Benjamin Thomas TaylorFollowing the success of Benjamin’s recent showcase at our Broadway Market pop-up, we're excited to introduce Shapes of Nature: Inspired by Matisse — a brand new collection of six original studies. Using gouache to paint directly onto the soft texture of sketchbook paper, Ben draws from the fluid lines and organic compositions of early Matisse lithographs. The artist has reinterpreted wild blooms and natural forms with a contemporary edge. Each study is hand-painted, featuring bold colour palettes and elegant silhouettes that reflect his evolving visual language. This one-of-a-kind original work continues the momentum of his sold-out series Painting from the Breakfast Table, offering a fresh exploration of form, colour, and rhythm.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Benjamin Thomas Taylor
Benjamin Thomas Taylor is a British artist based in London, who paints Pop Art style landscapes. Having grown up around Snowdonia, but spending much of his life in the city, Benjamin brings his experience of both these spaces to his art.
Benjamin studied painting at the University of Brighton, and has since gone onto exhibit for a number of London galleries. His detailed landscapes, encapsulating a sense of joy, invite us to cross over from reality into a parallel world full of colour and possibility.
