The most significant original work by Benjamin Thomas Taylor currently available at Print Club London — Meet Me In Matisse's Garden II is a large-scale gouache on paper that extends the series from limited editions into the territory of major collected works. Where the screen prints in the Matisse garden series approach the reference through the filter of printmaking, this original engages with it directly through paint and paper, the scale allowing the colour fields and botanical forms to operate at a size where they carry the room rather than sitting within it.
Taylor has been collected internationally since his first exhibition in 2015, with commercial work including album artwork for Paolo Nutini's number one record Caustic Love and projects for Nike and Rough Trade Records. At £3,800 this is a considered acquisition — our guide to investing in original art prints covers what to think about when buying at this price point. Original, one-of-a-kind, signed. £3,800.
