Serendipity is part of a newer run of mixed media work from Adam Bartlett, where charcoal is worked into the paint to rough up the surface texture rather than leaving it flat. The subject is a fluorescent orange cheetah against a blue ground, framed and ready to hang in a dark-stained wooden tray frame at 25 x 26cm.
One-off original, edition of 1.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Adam Bartlett
Adam Bartlett started on a new series of paintings in 2015, a theme was appearing, tigers and plants we’re consistent features and the name ‘Tigers Of The Universe’ came into being. The universe being the perfect expanse in which the plants, pots and tigers explore each other, often through vague notions of living rooms that disappear into the forest.
The works are a combination of acrylic, enamel, spray paint and emulsion onto paper and board, carefully building in layers using an array of brushes and rollers. I enjoy the contrast and try to combine illustration with abstract texture and fragments of graphic geometrics.
