The watermelon is an already vivid subject — the high-contrast red and green, the graphic simplicity of the sliced cross-section — and six colours plus a glitter finish gives it the level of summer excess the title suggests. Another Morning in Paradise is exactly the right name for a print with a watermelon in it: the casual optimism of the phrase, the implication that paradise is an ordinary domestic state rather than a destination.
