The title of this piece does what the best of Bonnie and Clyde‘s titles do — it lands somewhere between literal and metaphorical, the word carrying both its slot-machine meaning and the broader sense of something lucked into rather than planned. Her work, as she has described it, navigates the city as a space that is simultaneously banal and extraordinary, terrifying and magnetic, and the Jackpot title captures exactly that duality.
Made using giclee printing as the base — which gives it the photographic detail and tonal range that pure screen printing doesn’t achieve — with silkscreen and glazes applied over that foundation. The Fabriano paper takes the layered process well, its texture giving the glazes something to catch against. Edition of 75, signed. £450.
