From Lucille Clerc’s sustained engagement with Kew Gardens, Vera takes its subject from within the Royal Botanic Gardens — the name suggesting a particular plant or glasshouse subject rather than a named individual. Clerc’s Kew series is built entirely from drawings made on site, developed into screen prints in the same building where her studio is housed: directly above Print Club London’s printing facility in Dalston.
The series represents one of her most sustained bodies of work — multiple visits, multiple formats, multiple colourways — and Vera is among the more intimate of the larger editions. Signed and numbered.
