Print Club London collaborated with Jessica Rose Bird to produce a collection of limited edition screen prints for International Women’s Day 2019. Originally hand-drawn with chalk pastels, these pieces were translated to the screen printing method by printer Louis Carpenter in our East London studio, making it possible for these illustrations of the female form to reach a wider audience. Folded — the body in a particular configuration, the figure at rest in a way that emphasises the line and silhouette that defines Jessica Rose Bird is a Scottish artist and illustrator based in London who studied Fashion Design at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen. She worked in the fashion industry before becoming a full-time artist in 2018. Her work focuses on the moving body — brightly coloured chalk pastel and charcoal drawings of both the nude and fashioned figure.
