Barry is a bear deep in thought.
Hand-pulled, two-layer screen print in lilac blue. Limited edition. What Barry is thinking about is left to the viewer — the whole print is that question, and the name Barry doing some heavy lifting in the context of a contemplative bear. Natasha Searston is a London-based illustrator and screen printer originally from Nottingham. After a degree in illustration she spent many years working in television before returning to art in 2018, when she began turning her playful drawings into screen prints. Her rule is simple: if she draws something that makes her smile, it passes the test.. Her prints build dreamlike worlds populated by “an array of reappearing characters” — bears, blobs, tiny creatures — who conduct their inner lives with complete seriousness. Barry seems to have a lot going on. Signed. £90.
