Dusty pink rather than fluorescent — where In Bloom 2 uses the more vivid background, this fifth piece uses a more muted, dusky pink texture over beige, which changes the relationship with the fluorescent orange blooms above it. The muted background makes the fluorescent orange more prominent; the contrast sharper. Clare Halifax's In Bloom series is an experiment in how different background treatments change the same essential compositional approach. Four colours, hand-printed, signed. £300.
