One colour silkscreen print, developed from original inky illustrations. Part of the artist's ongoing 'Belonging' series, comprised of screenprints and original ink drawings. These pieces use the swallow as a motif; a bird commonly associated with Spring and Summer only, but the re-appearance of which also coincides with Winter's end.
"After years of travel to seek out inspiration and adventures, the sense of belonging has become my new inspiration. Rather than looking to new destinations for answers, the standing still and pausing actually reveals what is truly important in life, and what I had been longing for and hoping to find on my travels.Pieces of life coming together. People coming together. The true sense of finding your very own place in a world. It is a human need, an instinct which we all crave. To belong. To find your home. Be that somewhere or someone. And the stories gathered along the way, everything it took to reach that destination have become a focus of my latest work.” - Caroline Tomlinson, 2023
