Toes in the water — or on the sand, or simply pointed toward the sea — rendered in a single colour silkscreen print developed from Tomlinson's original inky illustrations. The Summer Blues series is among the most intimate of her work: small, figurative, concerned with the body in summer rather than the landscape around it.
One colour means everything is in the drawing, which is exactly where Tomlinson's strength lies. Her inky flourishes have a looseness and energy that suits these small, closely observed pieces. Developed from original illustrations, signed and numbered.
