Dance the night away.
4-colour abstract screen print — bold yellow typography on a stark black backdrop, animated by curving green and pink lines and shapes that suggest movement and rhythm without depicting a figure directly. The abstraction is the point: the title tells you what's happening and the curving lines carry the feeling of it, the type and the image doing different jobs in the same composition. Matt Munday is a London-based illustrator and printmaker whose work reflects his passion for movement, music, sport and bold expressive colours. He was Print Club London's first artist in residence, creating his catalogue of prints in the Dalston studios. His aim is simple: make work that is lighthearted and fun, anything to spread a little bit of joy.. His approach turns music into movement turns movement into colour — this is that process made explicit in the title. Signed. £120.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Matt Munday
Matt Munday is a London-based illustrator and printmaker whose work is a direct reflection of his passion for movement, music, sport and bold, expressive colour. He was Print Club London’s first artist in residence, spending a month creating new work in the Dalston studios alongside our technicians and curators. His prints find joy in the simple and often overlooked moments of daily life — the dancefloor, the people who make a room worth being in, the first blooms of the year, the track that will live with you forever. Music runs through everything he makes: Moby, Armand Van Helden, Dead or Alive, Whitney Houston. Bold colours, lighthearted spirit, and the honest ambition to spread a little bit of joy.
