London isn’t like other capitals — it’s much greener, as Clerc has noted in her own words. The city’s tradition of squares, allotments, botanical gardens and pocket parks makes it as much a city of trees as of buildings, and City of Trees makes that argument visually. Clerc’s urban illustration practice has consistently treated the city’s green spaces as seriously as its architecture.
Developed from original hand-drawn illustrations and produced as a hand-pulled screen print in Print Club London’s Dalston studio. A piece that makes a specific claim about the character of London that residents tend to recognise immediately. Signed and numbered.
