"Broadway to Brick Lane" - A panoramic walk through East London’s Sunday markets.
Exclusive to Print Club London, This limited edition series is a dreamy reimagining of East London’s iconic markets, Broadway, Columbia Road, and Brick Lane. It celebrates this Sunday ritual that gives East London its heartbeat: a gentle stroll towards nowhere in particular, on those ordinary weekends that, without us even noticing, become part of the fabric of our lives.
Hand-finished on recycled paper with a deckled edge, each piece feels immediate and tactile as if ripped straight out of a sketchbook. We invite the viewer along the walk, playing with the perspective almost as a panorama between them. Flowers, clothes, and street lamps appear throughout as recurring motifs, symbols of identity and the everyday things that tie us to place. Drawing on the dreamlike worlds of Studio Ghibli and the playful linework of Quentin Blake, Broadway to Brick Lane is a visual journey through East London’s creative heart.
Explore East London’s Sunday markets in Broadway to Brick Lane, a limited edition, hand-finished collection exclusive to Print Club London. This line-drawn screenprint captures the spirit of Columbia Road Flower Market, where flower stalls, whimsical shop fronts, and distant London skyscrapers are captured in delicate line. Playful and dreamlike, it offers a glimpse into this Sunday ritual we all know too well. Hand-deckled by the artist and printed on 260gsm recycled paper, each piece is a tactile snapshot of everyday life in East London.
