Guest Curator // Louise Roe
It’s a new week which means a brand new guest curator and we’re very excited to be chatting to Louise Roe and taking a peek into her gorgeous Georgian farmhouse! After seeing her home you will instantly want to fill your home with antiques, vintage finds and our lovely artwork of course!
Louise Roe began her career as the news editor for Vogue.com, in London. She has since written for publications including Elle UK, In Style UK, People Stylewatch and Martha Stewart Weddings.
Her passions include skiing, high heels, cocktails, old movies and working as an ambassador for MTV’s Bullied campaign, and Step Up Women’s Network, an organization which helps underprivileged girls achieve their college and career goals.
After 11 years living in LA, Louise and her family recently relocated back to the English countryside, where she is enjoying renovating their new home.
It’s an old Georgian farmhouse in a little English village that we fell in love with on first sight. It has a lot of original period features so we’ve tried to accentuate those where possible.
I think traditional English country house with a twist- I love chintz, a mix of textures, antiques. I am a massive fan of furniture markets so the house is full of amazing vintage finds. I love putting a contemporary spin on a traditional style by adding lots of colour.
I started planning what our English house would look like long before we left LA, let alone found the house. I’ve always loved interior design so I held on to fabrics that I’d found years ago…and now I’ve finally been able to use them!
I’ve become a bit of an Etsy addict so I’ve been searching on there for a bamboo mirror for our guest bathroom.
My dream weekend would be having friends over for a BBQ and drinks on the Friday. A lie in and a long dog walk on Saturday finishing with a takeaway and a film. I love to pop into town on a Sunday for some brunch or head to an antique fair or market.

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
We’ve just spent a gorgeous few days at Cliveden house which is one of my favourite places ever. So so beautiful, it’s near where we got married and I find something new to love about it every time we stay.
The Slightly Foxed podcast is my current favourite, it’s all about forgotten books and is the most soothing listen.
One of my favourite restaurants is La Famiglia in Chelsea, London. It was Princess Diana’s favourite! Delicious food and a great atmosphere.
An iPad for talking to our families in lockdown, a bottle of Malbec and BBC’s Gardener’s World (not technically an item but I just love it)

It hasn’t been so much keeping busy as trying to find some time! Both my husband and I work full-time and Honor is two so it’s been a bit of a juggling act. It’s been lovely to spend so much time together though.
Plan, plan, plan. Instagram and Pinterest are amazing for inspiration and ideas. Keep fabric samples you love and everything will find a home. Most importantly, enjoy it. It’s a lot of fun.
