Stumbling into the Sublime // Angela Morris-Winmill and M.E. Ster-Molnar

What happens when two artists meet randomly at a London art fair a handful of years ago, become friends, and encourage each other to be even better versions of their artistic selves?

Angela Morris-Winmill and M.E. Ster-Molnar are doing just that. Through their shared fashion background from two sides of the world (Australia and the United States), they’ve taken their love of colour and trends and delved into new art techniques in the city that they each now call home – London. Angela loves details and diamond dust and perfectly finished gold leaf. M.E. often uses what’s on hand, colours outside of the lines and loves how imperfections can be the best part of the process. Conversations and shared time in the print studio between the two artists help to push boundaries, stumble into new ways of working, and often create richer work because of their shared enthusiasm and connection as friends. The monoprint process is a perfect screenprinting technique for each of them. Expectations fall away and instead, sublime beauty and better outcomes often emerge.

“Stumbling into the Sublime” at Print Club London features sketchbook concepts to finished works on paper and canvas and even a bit of soft sculpture created by both of these artists. This show highlights individual and collaborative works that push towards new ways of seeing beauty in the nuances, imperfections and unexpected beauty created through monoprinting.
