We are so excited to share this collection by Brian Giles AKA Sonofafox, the culmination of the artist’s recent month in residence at our Hackney studios.
“In this body of work, I wanted to explore the textures and rituals found in our seascapes, our relationship with the sea and how it can affect our emotional wellbeing. This is a subject I wanted to explore as swimming helped me immensely during the COVID lockdown.”
Each photograph has been translated into the screenprinting method via CMYK separation, with each layer hand-printed by the artist, experimenting with fluoro inks and colour fades to create dreamlike finishes.

Sonofafox is Brian Giles, an Irish Printmaker and Graphic Designer based in Dublin. Through the process of Screen Printing, he loves to experiment with graphic abstract textures and strong colour combinations. Often combining these two elements to produce bold and colourful artworks.
