An original ink drawing on Clairefontaine watercolour paper, from a series of figurative line drawings. The figures are layered and merged in a composition of lines, colours, and transparencies to create a unique and fluid choreography. They represent the complex and exciting interactions which shape each of us and define our humanity.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Margaux Carpentier
Margaux Carpentier is an image maker and storyteller. She creates pictures using a symbolic language, so each piece can be read by all, in many ways. Her work records the infinite combinations of colours and feelings offered by the world.
She works on varied projects, from large murals, installations, and paintings to detailed book illustrations, and even toys. What inspires her above all are the books she reads everywhere, her walks in the old overgrown cemetery (and when life allows it, elsewhere in the world), and pub conversations with friends and strangers.
