Original 1970s Clifford Richards prints
We’re very lucky to have worked with fantastic artists over the years and Clifford Richards is someone who we have absolutely loved collaborating with for some of our shows in the past. It really is an honour and, as long-time fans of his incredible Pop art, we are extremely excited to have have some of Clifford’s original prints from the 1970s.
The artwork for these prints was originally designed for Clifford’s ‘Noah’s Ark’ range in 1966 for children’s packaging graphics, including a selection of posters, mugs, wrapping paper and gift boxes produced by Polypops Products Limited. The bird designs were then enlarged and these beautiful pieces were printed in the early 70s. Considering their age, they are in amazing condition and the ink is exceptionally bright.
Entirely hand drawn, with compasses and rulers, these prints are from the days before Photoshop editing was possible! It’s wonderful to see the incredible artistry involved in illustrating these birds. The V&A have one complete set in their collection and we are so happy to have these wonderful prints available at Print Club for you to buy.
