METRO NEWSPAPER LIVE PRINTING EVENT

We were invited to an event hosted by Metro to launch their IRL campaign — a call to step away from the digital and live more in the moment, in real life. It felt like a natural partnership: live printing is, by its very nature, a real-world, hands-on craft, and with newspapers historically produced through screenprinting, the connection between old and new felt fitting. What better way to bring “IRL” to life than through a tangible, tactile experience that guests could see, touch, and take home?

Our live printing activation gave attendees exactly that — a moment away from their screens to engage with something real, watching each piece printed by hand right in front of them. It was the perfect embodiment of the campaign’s message: a genuine, in-person experience that cemented the idea of “real life” in the most literal sense. As part of the project the METRO commissioned illustrator Oli Fowler to design the cover for the magazine and associated artwork for the project.
