Print Club London Printerns

Introducing our newest printerns…

We have had 5 amazing, brilliant, fantastic up and coming artists through the Print Club doors from our Printernship scheme! We recently had a call-out and were looking for two new faces to come and be a part of the team here at Print Club! The talent we see being submitted is brilliant but we could only accept two! Well… we think you’re going to love our newest printerns, introducing…

Charlie Gould is an illustrator and print-maker specialising in poster design.

Originally hailing from Farnborough, Charlie made his merry way to Southampton where he swung himself a degree in illustration from Solent School of Art, Design and Fashion.

With a love of cult icons, counter-culture, and bad films, Charlie’s work draws upon these influences and finds itself a mash-up of bright colours and B -movie chic.

Charlie has also been a member of People of Print since early 2017

Niall Greaves is a Bristol based graphic artist and printmaker who’s work incorporates a mix of abstract and figurative motifs often informed by symbolism and nature. Creating bold images through patterns, found textures and abstract drawings, Niall works across a variety of sectors from limited edition screen prints and posters to set design and applied arts.’

This time round FESPA UK have kindly sponsored our two Printerns with a £1000 credit for them to purchase all the equipment they need, framing for their show at the end of the Printernship and any travel they need!

In case you don’t know much about FESPA here’s some more info for you;

The UK association of print specialists and manufacturers, FESPA UK Association represents a total market in the UK of £2.1bn. We represent not only producers of printed products used in point-of-sale media, industrial applications, garments and textiles, but also those companies who supply products and services to these imaging specialists.

The Association provides many guidance and training benefits such as running seminars, workshops and conferences, and many other networking opportunities alongside corporate services which include discounted Insurance through First Insurance, Croners guidance (legal), industry communications and market information searches support.

Graeme from FESPA UK recently popped to our studios to check out our set-up here in East London and also meet the Printerns who Fespa UK have kindly given the grant to! Graeme is a very experienced screen print specialist and has pushed boundaries with printing techniques, inks and materials! Charlie and Niall are lucky to have Fespa UK on board for their years of expertise and the pool of knowledge which is at their fingertips!

While Graeme was here he snapped a few shots of our Warehouse, Printerns work and print studio!
