What is a screen printing positive? A screen printing positive is a high-opacity film transparency printed with your artwork in solid black. You use it to expose your coated screen under UV light — the black areas block the light, which leaves those areas unexposed and washes out to create your stencil. A good quality positive means a clean, sharp stencil and more accurate prints.
What is a cyanotype negative? A cyanotype negative is the inverted transparency you place on your sensitised paper or fabric before exposing it to UV light. Because cyanotypes are contact prints, the negative needs to be the same size as the final print you want to make.
How do I send my artwork? Email your file to us after placing your order. For screen printing positives, make sure your artwork is set up as solid black at the correct size — no grey, no colour, no gradients unless you've converted them to halftone. We recommend a minimum of 300 dpi at the size you want printed.
Can I put multiple designs on one positive to save money? Yes — if your designs fit within the same film size, you can combine them on a single positive and only pay for one. This is a good way to reduce cost if you're working with several small layers or separations.
What file formats do you accept? We use photopshop to print so any Pdf , Tiff , Jpg . please make sure it is at least 300 dpi. any large files use Wetransfer or similar.
What sizes are available? A1 size is 841 x 594mm - ( 33.1 x 23.4 inches ) A2 size is 594 x 420mm - ( 23.4 x 16.5 inches ) A3 size is 420 x 297mm - ( 16.5 x 11.7 inches ) We can print A4 but a3 is our minimum cost due to wasted roll amountHow long does it take?
