Print Club Loves // Impossible Project
To celebrate the launch of the ‘Impossible Instant Lab Universal’ the Print Club team headed down to Hoxton Gallery last week to support their brand new artist Andrew Millar who was exhibiting amongst the other 7 UK and International artist.
Each artist was challenged to create 8 pictures using the Instant Lab with any of Impossible Projects Colour, B&W or SX-70 films.
Impossible grabbed a hold of Andrew around 5 years ago as the work he was creating was unique and unlike any other artist making work in this medium. They sent him to the US and Europe to conduct workshops and exhibitions of his surreal and dreamlike artwork.
It is this unique and haunting mix of reality and fantasy that grabbed our attention at Print Club and Andrew is currently busy in the studio building up a portfolio of limited edition, hand finished screen prints, exclusive to Print Club London.
The queue to get into the gallery was well worth the wait, as was the queue to the bar featuring tins of Brutal Brewing’s Pistonhead, 3 different types of prosecco and (rather deadly) amaretto sours.
Whilst we rubbed shoulders with the likes of Scout Willis (Daughter of Bruce and Demi Moore) and Alison Mosshart (one half of the famed band, The Kills) We also bumped into our own superstar, artist Lennie Lee who was as impressed with the show as we were!
The artists selected for the 3 day show were:
Andrew Millar (UK)
Alison Mosshart (LA)
Kate Bellm (London)
Oliver Blohm (Berlin)
Scout Willis (NY)
Paulina Surys (London)
Chuck Grant (NY)
Elegia (Edinburgh)
With plans for Andrew’s solo show this May and a possible collaboration between Print Club x Impossible Project we are excited for you to be involved!! Watch this space…
