House of Astbury
House of Astbury is a reflective cycle-friendly street wear brand with a feminist ethos. They are currently in the last few days of their Kickstarter campaign to manufacture reflective leggings!
As with all of House of Astbury’s products, the leggings are screen printed with water-based reflective ink at Print Club London. This means that the designs will then light up in direct light such as car headlights and flash photography – ideal for making the wearer more visible on the road.
The leggings are available in two designs: ‘Thunder Thighs’ and ‘Eyes on the Road.’
‘Thunder Thighs’ is themed around a positive body image, subverting a common sexist insult, whilst ‘Eyes on the Road’ challenges the culture of street harassment.
The leggings are also made with 4-way stretch fabric making them perfect for physical activities such as cycling and running.
House of Astbury hit their initial crowd funding target within the first couple of weeks and due to high demand for the leggings are now aiming for a stretch goal. This will enable them to make the leggings in a greater variety of sizes and possibly develop the leggings in a metallic fabric!
