2 day Deluxe Sceenprint workshop. Requirements: A laptop with Adobe Photoshop installed. 2 images on B & W paper, in JPEG, PDF or PSD format at 300 dpi.
Join one of our amazing designers that will guide you through all aspects of screen print design and teach you how to create a professional, 2 colour edition. over the course of 2 days you will be taught all the tricks and skills you need to start screen printing independently at a high level.
Day one kicks off in the Print Club Gallery (next door to the Print Club studio) in Dalston. Get ready to see a an incredible array of prints from our archive and learn how they were created. You will be taught the building blocks of artwork creation through the use of examples, learning step by step how all the different effects are achieved.
The morning covers artworking with Adobe Photoshop, halftones, stencil creation, gradients, CMYK printing, multiple layers, colour overlays, separations, stencil creation, true grain and more! The emphasis will be on teaching you a core set of skills from which you can progress to creating your own artwork in the afternoon. This artwork will then be combined with the artwork you have brought to the workshop, to create the layers of your 2 colour screenprint.
With the small class size, there will be lots of time for the tutor to discuss with you the best way to achieve an amazing print from the starting point of your design. Once all the artwork has been created and prepared for print, you will be taught how to coat, expose and wash out your screens ready for day 2! After all the planning and preparation of day 1, day 2 is all about the printing… In the morning you will be shown different types of ink and how they are used, how to mix up your inks and print your first layer.
In the afternoon everyone will be working as a team to print their second layers and achieve there professional prints! After all the printing is done, and you’ve had a chance to admire your newly taught print prowess, you will be shown how to blast out your screen!
