Based in London, Ricky Byrne is a screenprinter whose work focuses on found material, subject studies and mixed media.
Ricky has been screenprinting for 8 years and printing professionally for 6 as one half of printmaking duo Mesh & Blade. Recently he has been focusing on developing his artistic practice, and has had his work selected and displayed in two consecutive Royal Academy summer shows.
Ricky’s artistic output has been driven by the experimentation with and refinement of printing techniques and processes. His collections of work have delved into CMYK, as seen in his series of botanicals, and gilding in his Stellae, Zodiac and Elements series. His latest work is a departure from figurative subject matter in favour of something more expressive and abstract, in his dynamic colour blends.
