Artcade at Beach London

Summer is finally here so it was a complete delight to pop into the always cool and refreshing Beach London to see their latest show, Artcade!

 Artcade is an exhibition celebrating retro gaming culture for which Beach have invited 6 artists to produce a piece of artwork inspired by a vintage arcade machine from the ‘Golden Era’ of coin-operated gaming: Pac Man, Galaxian, Space Invaders, Asteroids, Donkey Kong and Street Fighter II.

Exhibiting artists include Malarky, Pete Fowler, Ellie Andrews, Gemma Shiel, Rosy Nicholas and Print Club artist, Anthony Burrill.

Beach is also running a number of events throughout the exhibition, including film screenings such as ‘The King of Arcades’ and ‘King of Kong’ and to make it even more exciting, they are recording the top scores on each machine and at the end of the exhibition, each cabinet’s top-scorer will win the artwork that accompanies it!
