London Design Festival
LDF celebrates and promotes our city as the design capital of the world. The 24th edition will take place from 12–20 September 2026. Spanning 11 participating districts including Bankside, Brompton, Shoreditch, Soho, and Mayfair. A nine-day programme of talks, parties, exhibitions, installations, product launches, open showrooms and pop-ups, covering everything from furniture and interiors to fashion, architecture, and digital design.
The Global Design Forum
London Design Festival’s curated talks programme — the “big ideas” strand of the festival, held at the V&A South Kensington’s Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre. Running across three days within London Design Festival, bringing together speakers from design, architecture, technology and art.
This year’s theme is “Worlds in Motion,” curated by Rhiarna Dhaliwal, a British-Indian architectural designer, researcher and curator — the programme explores how design is a catalyst for global change, looking at the exchange of ideas, culture, context and expertise across disciplines and geographies

The Shape of Colour
Colour is understood as a surface treatment, yet it is fundamental to how we experience and navigate the world. Bringing together voices from science, graphic design, industrial design and architecture and material culture, this conversation explores how colour is created, perceived and used across different scales and contexts

Structured thematically, each module explores the questions, ideas and cultural forces that shaped the history of art, tracing the development of painting in the Western European tradition from medieval devotion to contemporary art. Along the way, you’ll encounter the artists, techniques, materials, patrons and historic events that shaped how painting evolved across centuries.
