Sneaker Pigeon
Print Club London’s managing director, Fred Higginson, has one of his sculptural pieces, a pigeon reasembled from a Nike trainer, exhibited in current fashion show Sneaking into Fashion. The show put on by Javari.co.uk and curated by Tory Turk covers trending trainers through the decades and a great collection of celebrities own footwear.
Coming from a sculptural background, Fred Higginson turned a classic Nike trainer into a racing pigeon for the Nike87 show in 2010. Since the bird has been re-exhibited in Sneaking Into Fashion, it has stolen the limelight amongst some of the most high profile footwear out there. Also on show are Jay-Z’s gold Muska Skytops, Mo Farrah’s winning Nike Volts, Liam Howlett of The Prodigy’s gaffer taped Double Identity trainers from touring in the 90′s and iconic trainers through the decades such as a pair of 1980′s Gucci tennis trainers.
Sneaking into Fashion is on in Covent Garden Piazza until 28th October.
