Print Club Loves // London Fashion Week
Here at Print Club it is often the case to see artists and printer makers working for the most diverse projects and collaborations.
In the past few weeks Print Club’s eclectic artist and holder of the screen print editioning service Blacklist, Jonas Ranson, has worked tirelessly in the making of some screenprinted fabrics for the young and talented fashion designer Claire Barrow.
The collaboration first started when Claire contacted Jonas in order to discuss the possibility of working on a commision for Purified Footwear. Claire was looking for a printer who could print a series of her illustrations on a limited edition Purified range of shoes and boots.
After the success of this initial project, Claire commissioned Blacklist to work on her SS15 collection, using CMYK four colour half tone printing, and again for the new AW15 collection “High Flyers” Which was unveiled last Sunday at Somerset House for London Fashion Week.
The collection has been hailed as one of the most original and evocative of this edition, and Claire was among one of ten of London’s brightest emerging talents that received sponsorship from NEWGEN to showcase their AW15 collection at London Fashion Week.
“For the new AW15 collection we worked together to produce a series of CMYK designs which adorned leather, silk and cotton garments. It’s a farily high pressured and demanding environment the fashion industry, and people are working to very tight and intense deadlines. But it has been very rewarding working wiht Claire, with Shaan, Claire’s chief assistant and partner and realising a project as a part of a team”
Considering the amazing result of the collaboration between Jonas and Claire, we can only hope that this artistic partnership will keep going!
