Back for the second year, our Summer Screen Prints show features some of the world’s best artists matched with some of the best cult films. Working in collaboration with Film4 and Somerset House, we have produced all of the limited edition two-layer prints which are on display at our exhibition at Somerset House from the 31st July to the 20th August 2014.

Each of the 16 artists that we have chosen has taken inspiration from the films on show this season and has re-imagined these beautiful posters.

“I love horror films and Rosemary’s Baby is up there with the best of them.  Countless viewings later the ending still disturbs me. Plus it meant I got to study pictures of Mia Farrow for about two weeks solidly. ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ is the second of Polanski’s apartment trilogy and the foreboding Dakota building is obviously central to everything that happens; I tend to spend most of the film deciding which one I love more: Mia Farrow or the building. Print Club, Somerset House, Film 4 and classic horror = dream collaboration. Suspiria or the Wicker Man next, please!” – Mat Pringle.

Mat Pringle

Mat Pringle was born in South London where he spent an idyllic childhood climbing trees and drawing dinosaurs.  After a few false starts he studied graphic design at the London College of Communication before eventually stumbling his way into the murky world of illustration.  He now spends his time doing fantastical figurative illustrations often with obsessive attention to detail, working predominantly with dipping pen and ink.  In the last few years he has expanded into screen and lino-cut printing which has led to teaching a BRIT Kids course in Illustration and Printmaking at the BRIT School.  He still draws dinosaurs only not quite as well.

His work has featured in exhibitions including Pick Me Up, a number of Gallery 1988 group shows, ArtCrank, Pictoplasma Paris and Print Club’s Blisters On My Fingers. Clients include Little White Lies, Fright Fest Originals, Branch, Threadless, Miles To Go and Get A Grip. He is also a member of Puck Collective.
