FAQ

  • Introduction to Screenprinting

The workshop starts off with a brief introduction to screen printing and the Print Club London studio. You be will talked through the equipment that will used throughout the day, as well as the general theory that goes into the process. You will individually coat your own screens in preparation for use later in the day to print your own edition of prints, and will be shown some amazing examples of artwork that’s been printed in our studio by working artists.

  • Artworking

Our tutors will talk you through some different digital and analogue processes that will help you turn your own image into a usable Positive ready to expose on your screen. Don’t worry if you aren’t too familiar with Photoshop or using a computer, the technicians will go slowly through the techniques and ensure that the theory of what they are doing is understood by all.

  • Exposing

Here is where you will take your Positive and expose it onto your coated screen to make the stencil you will be printing with in the afternoon. The tutor will talk you through how our large exposure unit works and then help you wash out your screen afterwards.

  • Printing

Once all preparation has been done it’s time to print! The printers will show you how to get your screen set up on our printing beds and some key printing techniques. You will then be left to print your own small edition of prints with our tutors there to give you a helping hand and talk you through any problems that might pop up. Once you’re finished printing you learn how to clean your screen completely, ready for use again!

  • What to bring

On the day, we’ll ask you to select one copyright-free design but it’s always helpful to have a backup in case your chosen design doesn’t translate to screen printing that well.

They must be A4 black and white designs, please bring them along on a USB stick saved in .JPEG/.PDF/.PSD file format. These images can range from photographs, illustrations to doodles.

On the day of your workshop, you will be able to choose from many different coloured inks.

  • Refund/ Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or re-arrange your workshop you must do this 14 days prior to your workshop. Any cancellation within 14 days of your workshop may result in you not being refunded or a new space allocated. If you cannot make a workshop within 14 days of your date we will endeavour to fill your space however, a refund or date change can only be made if that space is filled.

If it’s a group booking then we cannot guarantee that all the spaces will be sold, as we advertise each space individually.

If you fail to turn up to a workshop you will not be refunded for that space.
We will always do our best to move you to an alternative date if plenty of notice is given so do let us know if your plans change!
