Yijing Li is a London-based graphic designer and illustrator. Originally from China, Yijing graduated from London College of Communication with an MA in Graphic Design. Following graduation Yijing founded her design studio – Yi-Studio(yi-studio.co.uk), in 2014.
Yijing’s works are a dichotomy of minimalistic graphic designs and decorative, dreamy illustrations. Yijing’s dualistic approach has produced contrasting and often conflicting styles and narratives. For her commercial graphic designs, Yijing has adopted a reductionist style whereby lines, colours and ideas are compressed to their essence in order to bring focus to the subject matter; in contrast for her drawings Yijing seeks to create an atmosphere of thoughtful reflection using traditional, hand-drawn techniques.
Yijing has produced illustrations for children’s books, theatre posters, and greeting cards. She also works on branding and identity projects through her graphic design practice.
