Tom Beastland is a London based illustrator, designer and printmaker. He studied Illustration at Middlesex University before completing an MA at Central St Martins. His influences are largely print-based, with both a love for the energy and humour of punk era collage and DIY band related printed matter, but also the beautiful colours and technical ability shown in early film poster lithography. In addition, expert mark making is a huge inspiration be it Albrecht Dürer or Robert Crumb.
“Although technically skilled, along with realism i like to allow myself to wander through humour and ambiguity on a page, to try and surprise myself and rediscover my childhood love for art, which as a kid would keep me drawing for days at a time, desperate for paper, ripping blank flypapers from my father’s precious books”
