Soho House recently commissioned Print Club to curate a selection of illustrations and print 12 alternative film posters for their Electric Cinema venue in Notting Hill. Artists Hattie Stewart, HelloVon, Anthony Burrill and Ed Wood have created unique works inspired by The Great Gatsby, Gangster Squad, Rush, Anchorman 2, and Gravity, to name but a few.

Since its inception, film has always been held as a passion of Soho House, and the brand has shown continued support for the industry; from grass root mentoring programmes for aspiring film makers to hosting Oscar events at Soho House West Hollywood.

The poster series was inspired by Soho House designer Ed Wood’s weekly illustrated posters for the Electric Cinema, which soon developed a fan-base of people wishing to buy and take home his designs.

About the Electric:
Electric Cinema on Portobello Road is one of the oldest cinemas in the UK and has been screening some of the world’s best films almost continuously since opening its doors in 1911. The interior of the Electric reflects the cinema’s long history whilst armchairs, sofas and beds offer unparalleled comfort and a unique cinema experience. The Electric’s film programme comprises a mix of quality mainstream and art house films. It also shows classic titles that are critically acclaimed alongside eagerly-anticipated new releases.

We have produced 12 posters in editions of 200 prints exclusively for Soho House. We’ve got a very limited 25 of each available for sale on our online shop by some of our favourite Print Clubbers, Hattie Stewart, Anthony Burrill, HelloVon – you may remember their popular prints from our Somerset House Film4 Summer Screens poster series!
